First of all a huge thank you to everyone who has joined us for courses so far this year. Our students come from all parts of the world and all walks of life and I believe we have the best job in the world. At last summer has really arrived! We have had a long damp spring this year, not what we expect here in Provence, but this week the sun is shining, summer linens are making their appearance and the countryside is alive with poppies and other wild flowers. This morning during my early walk I saw the first cherry pickers in the neighbouring orchard. This is the moment when the markets are teeming with all the new season produce and it is a joy to walk through them on a summer morning. We’ve already had the asparagus and strawberries, now it will be the cherries, the wonderful stone fruits and our fantastic sun-ripened summer vegetables.
We still have a few places left on courses throughout June and July so why not come and join us. You will find excellent teachers, great students and a passion for Provence. Our Discover Provence weeks help you to explore the hidden side of Provence, away from all the tourist traps (though we do include one or two of our favourite ones!).
